The middle of the Portofino Promontory and inside the protected area of the Parco di Portofino is now the home of beehives that produce the original Portofino Wild Honey. The production of honey, propolis and pollen on the Portofino Promontory is born from the bee forest located in the Prato area, overlooking the Bay of the English. The honey of “La Portofinese” is gathered from beehives arranged similarly to those historically tended by Benedictine. The beauty of the place and the excellence of the products from this area will make you become a laboratory of emotions and a real natural botanical museum. Last year, also our first year of bee keeping, our four hives produced more than 40 kg of chestnut and wildflower honey. Now our plan is to expand to 20 hives and specialize our production in different types of honey, especially the “Erica” and the “Corbezzolo” plant, two typical plants of this area.
